A sneak peak at next year's stamps.
The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.
The U-S Postal Service is the nation's biggest civilian
employer, and if you counted its post offices as stores, it
would be the biggest retailer in the country, too. So it's
no wonder many of next year's stamp subjects -- which will
be announced officially next month -- have leaked already.
Many of these were revealed in Delphi's Stamp Collecting
Forum on the Internet.
It's expected next year's Looney Tunes stamp will feature
the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote. The Hollywood Legend
will be character actor Edward G. Robinson.
The Postal Service is sponsoring an eleven day stamp show
next summer in Anaheim, and at the World Stamp Expo, is
expected to issue as many as 9 new stamps. Many will have
a space theme, and four were designed by children ages 9
to 11.
We expect a stamp for the hundredth anniversary of the
Navy's Submarine Service in April.
We already know the Celebrate the Century series will wrap
up, with 15 stamps each for the 1980s and 90s.
And that's stamp collecting this week.
