Celebrity Overload

The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.

Linn's Stamp News got ahold of the secret minutes of the group that comes up with the
ideas for U-S stamp subjects and designs, and the plans for next year's stamps include
a wide variety of celebrities.

They range from singers like the Beatles, Sarah Vaughan and James Brown to the
basketball superstar Wilt Chamberlain to computer visionary Steve Jobs. Other names on
next year's docket are Elizabeth Taylor, Julia Child, Dora the Explorer and Rudolph the
Red-Nosed Reindeer.

You can also expect new designs for Hanukkah, Eid, Kwanzaa, and, of course, Christmas.

Harvey Milk, the gay San Francisco supervisor who was murdered, and Ralph Ellison, who
wrote "The Invisible Man," may appear.

Now, the plans leaked show too many issues for next year. Some of them probably won't
make the final cut. And, there are some issues from THIS year that were cut, and may be
released next year -- notably, Ingrid Bergman and Science Fiction Writers.
