Hands Across the Sea
The Stamp Collecting Report. I'm Lloyd de Vries.
There's a bright side to the U-S economic problems for sellers willing to ship
overseas: International sales are rising.
The decline of the U-S dollar means that stamps being offered for sale in the U-S
increasingly are looking like bargains to buyers in Europe and Canada.
That's probably true of MANY types of merchandise, not just stamps.
It's not that hard to sell to overseas customers, especially if you're using an
online payment system, which will do the currency conversion for you. For
non-electronic transactions, specify in your listing that you want payment in U-S
funds.
There's a postage chart at U-S-P-S-dot-com, but basically, for almost anywhere
outside North America, First Class Mail International is 90 cents an ounce now,
94 cents after May 12th. Most online selling sites let you specify different
shipping charges for different countries.
Welcome to the Global Economy.
