Looking ahead to Oh-Six
The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.
In two years, stamp collectors from around the world will be coming to Washington for a
major stamp show.
"We have lots of stamp shows around the country every year, but only one what they call
a World Philatelic Exhibition, once every 10 years."
RUNS :09
And Steve Luster and the rest of the Washington Two Thousand Six Committee have ALREADY
been working on this "international" for a decade. Get ready to see some really rare
stamps.
"Internationals and particularly ones in big countries like the United States, tend to
draw in the best exhibits from around the world."
RUNS :09
In fact, it will have more of everything than you're likely to see at any other U-S
stamp show for...well, for a decade.
"It's just on a grander scale, much larger than a normal show that might have
40, 50, 60 dealers, including foreign postal administrations, we'll have around
200."
RUNS :09
So mark your calendars now
And that's Stamp Collecting this week.
I'm Lloyd de Vries, CBS News.
