Putting them away.
The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.
What's a good U-S stamp album for beginners? According to an
online discussion, two good bets are the Scott Minuteman and
Mystic's new American Heirloom. While neither shows nor has
spaces for every U-S stamp, it's unlikely that most beginners
will acquire early rarities or modern varieties. The Scott, a
two-volume set, runs about sixty dollars; the Mystic, one
volume, about thirty-three.
Obviously, these are for SERIOUS beginners! There are less
expensive, sometimes even FREE, albums for children.
Both Scott and Mystic are binders, which allows you to add or
subtract pages. There are a number of album page-creation
programs on the market, and even a website or two, or you can
use standard computer software. In fact, if cost is a
consideration, or the collection is limited to a period of time
or a subject, you might consider making up your own album.
Both Scott and Mystic prefer to deal directly with customers.
Both have 800 numbers and web sites.
And that's stamp collecting this week.
