Stamps or stickers?
The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.

A recent news story said that Psy, the Gangnam Style singer, had been honored with
postage stamps from South Korea because his YouTube video had one-point-three billion
views.

So far, so good. But the story also said the stamps were being sold by Psy's management
company, and there was no mention of Korea Post. A red flag went up.
So I went to the South Korean postal agency's website, clicked on the English button,
looked around, and didn't find any mention of Psy.
These are what's called "personalized postage," just like the stamps U-S mailers can
order from Stamps-dot-com or Zazzle. The customer chooses a picture and maybe some text,
and the company prints stamps that will carry the mail.
In many countries, instead of an outside vendor, the postal agency itself produces these
custom stamps.
Too bad. It's always a better story when your COUNTRY honors you, instead of your manager.
