Young Love.

The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.

The image most people have of a stamp collector is some old white guy... And while some
of us are, some stamp collectors are women... people of color... and YOUNG.

We were reminded of that recently when 26-year-old Alex Haimann graduated with an M-B-A
from the Olin Business School.

He's one of the young movers-and-shakers in stamp collecting, and the organizer of a
fellowship program for high school and college students. The program has three tracks –
writing, exhibiting and selling stamps.

Alex also was chosen to deliver a speech at Olin's commencement.

"I want to do my small part to add to our official Olin extended family."  :04

And then Alex went off his script.

"You are the love of my life. I have loved you ever since the day that I met you, and I
will love you forever. Will you please, Sarah Kranen, marry me."  :10/:13 applause under

Now Alex is running for a top office in a stamp society. And he's not the only prominent
20-something in stamp collecting.

Oh, by the way, she said yes.

"Well, that went well." + laughter :01
