The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.

I'm here at a Washington Nationals baseball game....even though I live in New Jersey and 
my team, the New York Mets, isn't here. Why? Because I'm in town for a stamp show.

Thanks to stamp collecting, I've also seen games in Chicago, Denver and Pittsburgh. 

I've taken a cruise on the Mississippi River, ridden a cable car in San Francisco, visited 
top museums and historic sites. Sometimes these visits are arranged by the stamp show, but 
sometimes my friends and I will just say, "Hey, we're here, let's do it."

Last year, I put a note on Facebook that I'd be at a show, and reconnected with a friend 
from college.

Letting stamp collecting plan my trips takes me to cities that would never have been on my 
list were it not for the shows they were hosting. But every city has its tourist attractions, 
often surprisingly good.

Sometimes the scheduling just doesn't work out. I've been to Cleveland twice now, and still 
haven't seen the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame or an Indians game.

[pause] I wonder when the next stamp show there is....
