A Lunar Eclipse.

The Stamp Collecting Report. I'm Lloyd de Vries.

This summer marks the 40th anniversary of the first human landing on the moon, by
American astronauts.

Britain is issuing stamps. So is the Isle of Man.

The U-S isn't. It just didn't make the cut this time, the Postal service said.

Several stamps were cut from this year's program, because -- we were told -- the
Postal Service needed to cut costs. But the moon landing was never on the program.

The U-S guidelines say stamps are only issued for anniversaries in multiples of 50
years. But we just got 5 stamps for The Simpsons T-V series, celebrating its *20th*
anniversary.

There were stamps for the 20th, 25th and 30th anniversaries of the Moon Landing...
even one around the 31st. But no U-S stamps on space subjects for the past 9 years.

Perhaps the stars just don't shine as brightly any more.
