The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.
If you collect U-S stamps and live in the U-S, buying the latest issues can be as easy as
visiting your post office. If you collect the stamps of another country, it may be more
difficult -- but there ARE several options.
The most obvious is to contact that country's postal service, and the Internet makes that
easier than ever. Many have online sales sites, often in several languages.
Some countries' postal agencies also sell the new issues of OTHER countries. Canada Post,
for example, supplies new stamps from the Netherlands and Macao, among others.
Some postal authorities have agents in various countries or regions selling their new
issues. The major agencies in North America include Unicover, Interpost and
Inter-Governmental.
And dealers who specialize in new issues are a fourth possibility. While they may not be
the fastest or cheapest, they probably allow the greatest flexibility, since a smaller
operation may pay more attention to what you want.
And that's Stamp Collecting this week.
I'm Lloyd de Vries, CBS News.
