Stamps On The Cutting Edge.
The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.
You may think of collecting stamps as old-fashioned, but there's a regularly-scheduled
one-hour stamp collecting show on one of the newest media, Internet radio.
"It's a wonderful opportunity to discuss many aspects of philately on the air."
RUNS :05"
Nancy Clark hosts the show every two weeks at 3 p-m Eastern time on w-s-radio-dot-com,
but because each show is archived, you can tune in any time.
"Anybody can listen 24/7 and, as a result, we get a lot of listeners in Europe, as well
as in this country."
RUNS :07"
The original host did the show for a year before finding it took up too much of his time.
Clark is a natural. As head of the American Philatelic Society's Entry-Level Collectors
committee, she's also active in helping newcomers.
"I'm a teacher by training and did a lot of teaching but carried it over into stamps."
RUNS :05"
And she believes the Internet is a good way to connect with new collectors.
And that's Stamp Collecting this week. I'm Lloyd de Vries, CBS News.
