We're not in Kansas any more...
The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.
Some new stamps from other countries remind us that there are different rules in different
places.
Next month, Canada honors the Home Hardware chain, which Canada Post says is the country's
biggest Canadian-owned retailer, outside the postal service itself....not just in hardware,
in ANYTHING. But can you imagine a stamp like that in this country...say for Ace Hardware?
Home Depot would demand equal time.
Switzerland just issued four stamps, one for each season, featuring the popular comic strip
Titeuf. Titeuf is described as a boisterous lad with a habit of being a little...disruptive.
In the winter stamp, he's fashioned a snowman, but the carrot, instead of representing the
nose has been placed....um....a little lower on the torso, much to Titeuf's glee. Can you
imagine the uproar over a stamp like that here?
One of the U-S breast cancer stamps showed a woman's BACK! The prostate cancer stamp....just
a symbol.
What would Titeuf have done?
And that's Stamp Collecting this week.
I'm Lloyd de Vries, CBS News.
