Wake up and smell the...POSTAGE STAMPS?
The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.

Brazil earlier this month issued a stamp to celebrate the
coffee industry. It shows a spoon with coffee beans and
contains coffee resin to give it aroma, enough to last five
years. Brazil is the world's largest producer and exporter
of coffee.
Two years ago, Brazil issued a stamp with the smell of
burned wood, to call attention to destruction of the rain
forest. And earlier this year, Switzerland issued a stamp
that smelled like, well, Swiss chocolate.
The possibilities of scented stamps are endless: Valentine's
Day stamps that smell like perfume. Perhaps a Louisiana stamp
that smells like Cajun cooking. Or maybe one with the smell
of the seashore?
On the other hand, what about a stamp for landfill pollution?
Smog? Smoking? What happens if the Postal Service irradiates
mail with a cookies stamp -- do they smell like burnt cookies?
Maybe we shouldn't go there.
And that's stamp collecting this week.
